Adoption and Custody Home Evaluations

Family Counseling Center offers home evaluations for those individuals and couples wanting to adopt a child or those families seeking a change in custody of minor children through the court system. A master's level therapist will come to your home and discuss with you the implications of the changes to your family and gather information that will be helpful to the judge in determining the best situation for the children involved. These home visits are required by the Superior Court, and Family Counseling Center is the agency designated to complete the evaluations in several Central Georgia counties. The fee is $275 plus $1.00 per mile for our round trip travel from our office to your home. Our report to the court involves a detailed social/economic family history and criminal background check including fingerprint records.
