Family Investment Center

The Family Investment Center is a "one-stop shop" for social services located at 905 Main Street in Macon, Ga. The center is located in a public housing development called "Davis Homes." The Family Investment Center is a program that has staff from more than thirty agencies who provide families with needed resources that are convenient, affordable and accessible. Some of the agencies and their services represented are: DFCS (WIC program, Family Self-Sufficiency, childcare center), Boys and Girls Club (after school programs), Child Care Resource and Referral Agency, Goodwill (computer classes, job placement service), Bibb County Health Department, Macon Housing Authority (resident services), Project READ, and Headstart (Pre-K program). Anyone who needs these services may come by the Family Investment Center and speak with a counselor for a referral to an appropriate program.

Family Counseling Center provides counseling for residents of Public Housing, Section 8, HOPE VI and clients of the Family Investment Center at no charge. You may be seen at Family Investment Center or at the Family Counseling Center office in downtown Macon.

You may also be eligible for the "WINGS class" which is a Family Investment Center initiative that provides a variety of programs in a classroom setting. The goal of the program is to support women who are seeking the resources to enable them to find employment. A computer class, group therapy, classes on personal grooming and self-esteem, field trips to local museums and activities are just a few of the opportunities available.

If you are interested in any of these programs, please call us at 478-745-2811 or the Family Investment Center at 478-752-5185.
