Bibb County has a home visiting Parent Education program, administered through the state of Georgia's Great Start program. It is sponsored by the Georgia Department of Public Health and the United Way of Central Georgia. The program uses an evidence-based home visiting curriculum called "Parents as Teachers" (http://www.parentsasteachers.org/).

The program helps parents who are  expecting a baby or families with young children (birth to age 5) learn about community support programs they might need, as well as helping them prepare their children for school.

Through the Great Start Georgia program, the Family Counseling Center has trained "parent educators" who provide home visiting services for families enrolled in the First Steps Georgia program, which is also administered through the Great Start Georgia program. (https://bit.ly/2FXdpY6
