Great Start Central Georgia Parents As Teachers Program is a Bibb County Program, sponsored by the Georgia Department of Human Services–Division of Family and Children Services and United Way of Central Georgia, Inc.

The program is all about helping parents expecting a baby or families with young children learn about all the services in the community that they can turn to when needed.

Through the Great Start Central Georgia Parents As Teachers Program, Family Counseling Center has trained Parent Educators who provide home visiting services for families enrolled in the First Step Georgia Program which is a program administered through Great Start Georgia Program (https://www.greatstartgeorgia.org/home-visiting-resource-center/first-steps).

The Family Counseling Center Parent Educators supports families through an evidence based home visiting curriculum called Parents as Teachers (http://www.parentsasteachers.org/).
