Through the State of Georgia's Great Start Georgia Program, Bibb County has a home visiting Parent Education Program. This program is sponsored by the Georgia Department of Public Health and United Way of Central Georgia, Inc.  The program uses an evidence based home visiting curriculum called "Parents as Teachers" (http://www.parentsasteachers.org/).

The program is all about helping parents expecting a baby or families with young children (0-5) learn about community support programs that they may need as well as helping them prepare their children for school.

Through the Great Start Georgia Program, Family Counseling Center has trained Parent Educators who provide home visiting services for families enrolled in the First Step Georgia Program which is a program also administered through the Great Start Georgia Program (https://www.greatstartgeorgia.org/home-visiting-resource-center/first-steps).
