Jones County ProgramsThe Family Counseling Center offers a variety of programs in Jones County through the Jones County Operation Early Intervention Program. The Jones County Summer Life Camp is a camp that is held each summer for two weeks. The topics for the camp include subjects such as choosing friends, work ethics, character development, alternate dispute resolution, communication, decision making and consequences of behavior. The youth attending the camp participate in therapeutic exercises and role-playing and receive a certificate of completion at a graduation ceremony. The Family Strengths Program is held at the Jones County Courthouse at the request of the Director of the Jones County Operation Early Intervention Program. Youth and their parents are required to attend ten sessions and participate in the community service project. This program serves as an alternative to court for juveniles who are first time offenders, truants, runaways, etc. If you or your child could benefit from this program, please call Donald Black at 478-986-0387. The Family Counseling Center also offers therapy to individuals, couples and families who are referred by the Jones County School System and the Jones County Operation Early Intervention Program at no charge. If your child is involved with the juvenile court or your family is in need of some direction and support, please feel free to call Donald Black, fill out an application or call us at 478-745-2811 for an appointment. |
